Autodesk Factory Design Utilities 2027 is an interoperable 2D/3D factory layout and optimization solution. Rather than operating as a standalone application, it is integrated directly inside Autodesk’s core applications—AutoCAD (Architecture, Mechanical, MEP), Inventor Professional, and Navisworks (Manage, Simulate)—available exclusively through the Product Design & Manufacturing Collection.
The 2027 release builds on cross-platform data synchronization, cloud-based asset efficiency, and deep integration with the new AI-driven framework available across the Autodesk ecosystem.
Cross-Product Asset Syncing: Native bi-directional sync links your 2D AutoCAD schematic layouts with 3D Inventor assemblies and Navisworks aggregation files. Moving a conveyor, robotic arm, or structural pillar in one application automatically shifts its counterpart in the other environments.
AutoCAD 2027 Performance Boost: Layout drafts leverage the updated 2027 graphics engine, providing faster pan and zoom speeds when dealing with complex factory footprints populated by thousands of discrete blocks.
Smart Asset Parameters: Easily publish and modify user-defined spatial properties (such as clearances, connector heights, and voltage inputs) directly within the asset properties grid.
Vault Professional 2027 Lock-in: The interaction between factory assets and data lifecycle management is tightened. Revised factory equipment chains can be checked into Vault with automated dependencies intact, ensuring regional facilities don't accidentally deploy outdated machine specifications.
Autodesk Assistant Integration: Accessible within the Inventor 2027 workspace, a new natural-language interface helps automate repetitive tasks. You can quickly call out instructions to suppress equipment chains, query spatial parameters, or isolate specific component interferences.
iLogic Codeblocks: For automated factory floor configurations, the 2027 ecosystem introduces modular, visual "puzzle-piece" programming nodes. This makes building rules-based, smart factory components (like conveyors that automatically adapt their legs to custom floor inclines) simple to configure without typing raw code.
Because the Factory Design Utilities run inside host applications, your hardware must satisfy the specifications required to process large assemblies in AutoCAD 2027, Inventor Professional 2027, and Navisworks 2027 simultaneously.
Operating System: 64-bit Microsoft® Windows® 11 (Windows 10 is no longer standard for the 2027 suite baseline deployment).
Required Hosting Apps: AutoCAD 2027, Inventor Professional 2027, and/or Navisworks Manage 2027.
Framework Requirements: .NET Core 10 or later (for Inventor/AutoCAD modules); .NET Framework Version 4.8 or later (for Navisworks/Vault modules).
